Well, as neither Topalov nor Carlsen are around, it seems quite difficult that the next World Champion can be anyone different from Anand, Gelfand, Grischuk, Kramnik.
According to this blog, Anand could have an edge at the final two games, as he plays white. Besides, he’s 0,5 ahead of Kramnik.

kramnik’s preparation seems very strong … i don’t think gerland can keep on going the way he did, even if i wish him the best … anand seems a bit soft to me even if solid ( as always ) … grischuk could become a hell of a champion but he looks like someone who has more than one obi 🙂

I don’t know how to predict this tournament anymore. Aronian is apparently sick and obviously not playing his best, yet still it seems hard to believe he will finish with a negative score, he’s too good for that.
