1. Rxe7 Rxe7
2. Bh4 Kf7
Forced, since 2…Rfd7 or Re8 loses to 3. Bxd8 Rxd8 4. Rc7+
3. Bxe7 Kxe7
4. Rc7+ Rd7 (forced, or else bishop goes)
5. f6+ Ke8 (5…Kd8 loses to 6. f7)
6. Bg6+ Kd8
7. f7 Kxc7
8. f8=Q and white wins.
GM Kaidanov just drew his last game ensuring 1st place and winning this tournament!!!!
Congrats, GM Kaidanov!
Re7 Re7
Bh4 Kf7 (Rdd7 f6+)
Be7 Ke7
Rc7+ Rd7
f6+ Ke8 (Ke6 Bf5+)
f7+ Rf7
Bg6 looks good.
But after Bh4 black might play
… Re3
Bd8 Bd3
and white still has to worry about rook + dangerous pawns on d4 and f4

1.Rxe7 Rxe7
2.Bh4 Re3
3.Bxd8 Rxd3
4.Rc7+ and Bishop falls, White wins.
Someone enlighten me why this won’t work:
1. Rxe7 Rxe7
2. Pxf6+ Kxf6
3. Bxh4+ K move
4. Bxe7 Kxe7
5. Rc7+ K move
6. Rxb7
Correction to above:
2. Pf6 instead of Pxf6 (anon. 1:17)
Someone enlighten me why this won’t work
because after 5.Rc7+ blacks simply plays 5….Rd7 and black is the one who is winning.
–Henryk.
i’ve miss that:))) i tought
1.Bxd4 Rxd4
2.Rxe7+ wining back the pawn and
activating the rooks:)))
I still believe that 1.Rxe7 is sound. The first reply stands correct. It’s because f6+ is the real killer blow.
