Working visit of FIDE President to Algeria
On February 21, the FIDE President arrived on a visit to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria where he had working meetings with the leadership of Algeria, the FIDE Continental President for the Africa Mr Lakhdar Mazouz and the chess society. At the meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Hashemi Djiar and the Minister of Education Boubekeur Benbouzid, the issues related to the chess development and the implementation of the Chess in Schools programme have been discussed, as well as the the conducting of the major chess tournaments in Algeria.
