Qf8 looks interesting since the knight at d4 would hang after the knight fork from d7 fork and win at b6:
1. Qf8 Kf8 (Kf6 2.Qf7#)
2. Nfd7
I choose this knight since the knight at f6 would be unprotected if the king comes back to g7. Continuing:
2. …..Kg7
Taking with the bishop won’t solve black’s problems since he is still going to lose a piece, and so it is to his advantage to keep the max material on the board, in my opinion, but it probably doesn’t matter much. Continuing:
3. Nb6 Ndc6
4. Nc6 Bc6
5. Bc6 Nc6
6. Nc4 and white has won a piece clean.
5. Bc6
1. Qxf8+ Kxf8
2. N(6)d7+ Bxd7
3. Nd7+
followed by NxQ and then winning a piece.
Qf8+ followed by Ne7+
Seems easy.
White is up with a bishop for a pawn after:
1. Qxf8+! Kxf8 (Kxf6? Qxf7#)
2. Nfd7+ Bxd7
3. Nxd7 Kg7
4. Nxb6
both black and white knight hanging.
A whole bunch of captures and 2 knight forks with check. At the end of this melee, Black will be able to take the remaining White knight on b6-square, but then her knight on d4-square will be captured. White is a piece up. Crucial is fact that when Black is able to capture White knight on b6-square, she doesn’t have any Zwischenzug: the Black knight can neither capture a White piece nor can it check the White king.
1. Qxf8+ Kxf8 2. Nfd7+ Bxd7 3. Nxd7+ Ke8 4. Nxb6 Ndc6
(4. .. axb6 5. Bxd4)
(4. .. Nxb3 5. axb3 axb6 6. Bxb6)
5. Nc4
Looking at it quickly, but looks like
1.Ned7 Bxd7 2.Nd7 threatens mate and the queen and thus wins the queen?
Also looked at 1.Qxf8+ Kxf8 followed by 2. Ned7+ Bxd7 3.Nd7+ winning back the sac’ed Q and ending a minor piece up after 3… K moves, 4. Nxb6 axb6 and 5. Bxd4 but not sure if I see it clearly.
1. Q:f8+ K:f8 2. Nfd7+ B:d7 3. N:d7+ then 4 N:b6 and 5. B:d4
White can go 1 piece up
1.Qxf8+ Kxf8 2.Nfd7+ Kg7
(2…Ke8 3.Nxb6 Ndc6 4.Nbc4)
3.Nxb6 Ndc6 4.Nbc4 Nxe5 5.Nxe5 b6
Qxf8+ Kxf8, Nfd7+ wins a piece.
White wins a piece:
1.Qf8+ Kf8
2.Nfd7+ Bd7
3.Nd7+ Ke8 (or anywhere)
4.Nb6 ab
5.Bd4
Black cannot escape by 1…Kf6 as White mates on f7.
