That’s a very nice one !!
Why would you need a computer to see this? Rh1!!- the idea is that if the rook is taken, Qh3 is followed by mate on the very next move since the g-pawn is now pinned to the king;
1. …..Rh1!!
2. Kg3 Bg2!!
3. Kg2 Qh3#
The line that seems to put up the most resistence is
3. f3 Qh3
4. Kf2 Qf3#
1. Rh1+! Kxh1?
2. Qxh3+! Kg1
3. Qxg2# mate
1. Rh1+! Kg3
2. Bxg2! f2
3. Qxh3+ Kf2
4. Qxf3# mate
1. Rh1+ since Kxh1 places the g pawn in a pin and so allows 2. Qxh3 followed by mate on g2.
So 1. … Kg3 and now 2. Bxg2!, f3 3. Qxh3+ and mate next move with Qf3. White can delay this with sacrifices, but cannot avoid it.
Nice destructive combination.
Rh1 +
Followed by Bg2 and then ultimately qh3 and Qf3#
Gud one..
black moves rh1+. either white king’s move will lead to mate. if kxh1,then, qxh3+,kg1,qxg2#.if kg3, then,bxg2,kxg2,qxh3#.
Well, the first move for me is
1. …, Rh1+; because the white King can’t capture the Rook due to 2. …, Qh3+; and mate the next one.
So, after
1. …, Rh1+;
2. Kg3, I’ll play h5 but I’m not so high rated to be sure of that 🙂
Ciao and Happy Easter to everyone!!!!
Luigi
1…Rh1+ 2. Kg3 (2.K:h1 Q:h3+ and 3…. Q:g2#)
2… B:g2 and white will be mated as soon as he runs out of spite sacrifices, since 3.K:g2 Q:h3 is mate.
..Rh1+,KxR Qh3+, next step checkmate …
1…Rh1 2.Kg3 only move, 2…Bg2! and its over, h3 collapses
How about this?
1. … Rh1+
(if 2. Kxh1, then Qxh3+ and Qxg2+#)
2. Kg3 Bxg2
and Qxh3+# has no defense.
1. Rh8+ Kg6 (if 2. Kh8 then Qh3).
2. Bg7 and mate or big material loss.
Rh1+!
