This is a funny but true scenario that happened quite often in chess. Click here to view the clip. It was only a little more than 20 years ago that I became the first woman to qualify for the “Men’s” World Championship Cycle but was not allowed to compete because of my gender. Thankfully, FIDE changed its policy by removing the word “Men’s” from the World Championship.

Too many male chauvenist. Look at what they’re trying to do to you in this election. They know you’re too powerful.
Funny!!!
Here is the conclusion to the Seinfeld chess scene:

Does anyone know what the chess position was or what opening George Costanza used? It is hard to get a good look at the board!
such hypocrisy. “I became the first woman to qualify for the “Men’s” World Championship Cycle but was not allowed to compete because of my gender.” is Kramnik allowed to play for the Women’s World Championship, or is he not allowed to compete because of his gender? Ah, gender discrimination is ok, as long as it is in favour of women. I see.
It depends on where the stronger players are. At the time Susan qualified to play with the men, who happened to be the stronger players, hence the incentive.
Why would Kramnik want to play for the women’s world championship if it were full of much weaker players than himself? If he were so inclined to do that he might also choose to play in the 8 years and under division as well.
No hipocrisy – just a wish to have a chance at playing with the best players without being discriminated against (in this case gender).
