I like this puzzle. it has a very interesting answer.
1. f6 (as suggested by one of the anonymous or anonymi?) is a tad slower and messier. Black could play 1… Rg8 perhaps and mess up White’s party.
after 1.Rg6 it is mate next move.
Nice solution. Too bad I did not find it. Oh well, maybe next puzzle.
