Criminal case on six items commenced for mass murder of people in Azerbaijan State Oil Academy

Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Office of Public Prosecutor made official statement on the occasion of today’s public crime committed at 9.30 am in one of the higher educational institutions of Baku.

The statement says: a stranger entered the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy’s 2nd building (also known as “new building”) located at 227, D.Aliyeva Street, which is the location of such departments as “Gas, Oil and Minerals”, “Oil Mechanics” and many others, and going upstairs to the sixth level shotted all the people he met by “Makarov” pistol. As a result of the crime, it was killed 12 people and 13 ones got wounds of different severity.

The crime was committed by 29-year-old Georgian citizen Gadyrov Farda (patronymic: Asad) who used “Makarov” pistol with three cartridges (capacity: 40 bullets).

Understanding that he was caught by law authorities, the criminal committed a suicide.

“12 persons died and 13 ones got wounds of different severity as a result of the crime,” it was informed.

As per initial data, the list of died persons is as follows: Ayaz Baghirov Javanshir, Yusif Bakhtaliyev Telman, Tamella Azizova Zulfugar, Taleh Mammadov Tariel, Ramiz Abdullayev Khalil, Shafa Mammadova Afat, Majnun Vakhidov Abdulvakhiv (a well known chess problemist who composed over 200 problems), Ayna Gurbanova Abbasgulu, Savalan Jabbarov Allahverdi, Emmin Abdullayev Imamali and Ruslan Babashov.

One decedent is being identified.

Among victims are: Mustafa Mohammed (citizen of Sudan), Seid Akhmad Amuri (citizen of Sudan), Daas Muaviya (citizen of Syria), Rahman Azizov, Zemfira Huseynli, Sabina Gurbanova, Elshan Mammadov, Elvin Jabiyev, Kanan Isayev, Faig Rustambeyov, Ilkin Shiraliyev, Elshan Mustafayev and Bakhtiyar Jafarov.

The criminal case is investigated under the patronage of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
