1. Rg5+ hxg5 (1… Kh7 2. Rg7+ Kh8 3. Qxh6#) (1… Kf8 2. Qxh6#) (1… Kh8 2.
Qxh6#) 2. Qxg5+ Kh8 (2… Kh7 3. Qg7#) (2… Kf8 3. Qg7#) 3. Qg7# 1-0
1]Rg5+ & in each variation black mated
Since there is a mate threat on g2, its clear that something very forcing is needed.
Rg5+ does it.
Chess tactics are a great way to start a day!
Rg5+
looks innocuously simple with
1.Rg5+ …hxg5
2.Qxg5+
Rg5 leads to mate
White need to find an energetic way to proceed otherwise they will get mated by the Black pieces – black threat is the simple Qg2# or Qh2# check mate! But instead of a more passive way of defending (e.g. retreating their rook on f6 to f2), the best they have to defend is to attack: Rg5+!
If Black takes the Rook hxg5, then Qxg5+ and black will be check mated fast. The possible variations are:
1. Rg5+ hxg5 2. Qxg5+ Kf8 3. Qg7#
or 1. Rg5+ hxg5 2. Qxg5+ Kh8 3. Qg7#
or even: 1. Rg5+ hxg5 2. Qxg5+ Kh7 3. Qg7#
there´s no safe place for the black King after 2. Qxg5+. So the best resistence black has at his disposal, but the one which is also uncapable to defend against white´s attack is: 1. Rg5+!, Kh7 2. Rg7+ Kh8 3. Qxh6#
Susan, We got the Texas Rangers vs. the New York Yankees and then we got the San Francisco Giants vs. the Philadelphia Phillies. Who do you like?
rh5+ –> mate in 2
This one is too easy. After 1. Rg5+ if black takes he gets mated after 2. Qxg5+ and 3. Qg7 mate. Otherwise 2. Rg7+ and 3. Qxh6 is mate.
Rg5+ ..
1.Rg5+!!, PxR;2.QxP+, K(any); mate next…
1.Rg5+ hxg5
2.Qxg5+ Kf8/h8/h7
3.Qg7#
1.Rg5+ Kh7
[1…hxg5 2.Qxg5+ followed by 3.Qg7#]
[1…Kh8 2.Qxh6#
2.Rg7+ Kh8 3.Qxh6#
– SS
Tf5-g5
It’s mate in three starting with Rg5+
Rg5+
Rg5+ hxg5 (forced since declining it would result in Qxh6#)
Qxg5+ and mate follows next move with Qg7!
very very easy¡¡¡¡
Rg5
Rg5
1. Rg5+… Mate in a few.
Rg5+ wins. Easy but still nice.
Beelze
Even Baby moves can win this…too simple.
