1.BxP, KxP (if 1…PxB, then 2.QxR!) 2.QN4+, KR2 3.RB6! wins
Alimuzzaman
Alimuzzaman’s line looks good. However, black’s position is toast anyway and I probably would have calmly played Qg3 with Rf6 to follow. With black’spieces placed so awkwardly there is nothing he can do to prevent disaster…
“However, black’s position is toast anyway and I probably would have calmly played Qg3 with Rf6 to follow.”
Maybe black can respond with
Qg3 Rg8
Rf6 Qe8
I agree it does not look convincing…
Sorry I meant
Qg3 Qe8
Rf6 Rg8
Wednesday chess tactic
How about the defence?
1. Qg3 f5
Though BxP is stromg, I ran into f5 with it too.
How about the defence?
1. Qg3 f5
In either variation, 1. … f5 is met with 2. ef+ Rf6 3. Qf6+
I’ve also calculated Alimuzzaman line, but I thought that 3. … Qxf6 holds blacks position temporarily.
So I prefer playing Qg4 first. Now Bxg6 is a stronger threat. I also see no good defense for black, since black cannot prevent white’s pieces from penetrating his position. For example:
1. Qg4 Rg8 2. Bxg6 fxg 3. Rf7+ Qxf7 4. Rxf7 Kxf7 5. Qf4+ Ke8 6. Qf6
now threatening Bxg6 which wins the rook for the bishop and after Qg8 Qb8 also the other rook.
