The spectacular 1… Rb1+! wins for black. Should the king not take the rook white’s rook on b7 falls without compensation and if 2.Kxb1 Nc3+ 3.K any Nxd5 the knight even protects the black rook, leaving black up in material. Great, love it!
Beelze
Not much choice:
1. .. Rb1+
2. Kxb1 Nc3+
and 3…Nxd5
Amusing that this position came up in real life!
The solution is of course simple:
1… Rb1+
2. Kxb1 Nc3+
and Black takes the Q with the N in the next move, defending own rook with the N.
(if 2. Ka2, Nc3#)
Rb1
1. … Rb1+ 2. Kb1 (or Ka2) Nc3+ 3. Nd5 with sufficient material advantage to win.
Mike Leach is a great coach for the Red Raiders and he will coach again and be successful.
WOOYOO {Spongebob} A Black Puzzzle!!! A tricky knight Susan a trick Knight, i tink it lands on c7 but this ones “mixin me up”! hehehe.
Rb1 !
Leaves black a piece up due to the fork Nc3+
Rb1#
1. … Rb1+
2. Kxb1 (2. Ka2 Nc3#)
2. … Nc3+
3. Kb2 Nxd5
Black is all set.
I can’t believe Mike Leach got fired!
I fear for anyone working for Texas Tech athletics!
