Cancel the match and declare them co-world champion.
It will only be fair to postpone and come up with new dates only after Anand arrives at sofia
FIDE and the organizer should
ensure/help Anand to arrive
Sofia ASAP, then allow him a 3-5 day break after arrival. Otherwise unfair
to Anand.
But I see the previous toiletgate becoming volcanicgate now.

You can ask you boss to shift the working time when you go to work b/c there was a traffic jam.
I seriously miss the point: there are a lot of people who have arranged the time to be in Sofia then. The media, sponsors and bam.. Shift your plans, Anand can’t travel. It’s not so far.
Unfair?
Why? Anand knows very well when begins the first game. No excuses for delay.
It is unfair for Topa and his team to postpone the match. One psychological adjust the start of such match. Changing the date and time affects the mental attitude. Ultimately there are contracts and Anand them signed. He must find transport to arrive on time. He himself is to blame for the situation.
It is a poor comparison between
volcanic eruption and traffic jam,
and also poor comparion between
travelling to Sofia and
going to daily work.
Indeed if there is a major
international incident
such as 911, I am sure the
New Yorkers’ boss do not
require them to
go to work that day.
You seriously miss the point indded.
I have waited long enough for Anand’s firs move.
Suggests he move his ass towards Sofia.
Let’s put this into perspective: the entire football team of Liverpool (11 players plus coaches plus support staff) are travelling from Liverpool to Madrid right now, for a football game on Wednesday. They are taking a train from Liverpool to London, then to Paris, then to Bordeaux, and then a plane from Bordeaux. It will take them one day, for a trip of some 1300 miles. And – they will start the journey home almost immediately after the game in Madrid, because they have another game in England later in the week. Sounds “unfair”? Well, the European football association didn’t postpone the game – and nobody is complaining – the game is set, it has to happen one way or another.
I am nobody’s fan in this one – but it really doesn’t make sense for Anand to whine or anyone else to support his demands – especially given how everyone else on the continent is stubbornly going about their business. Frankfurt-Sofia is half the distance Liverpool-Madrid.
