After he had defeated Ljubojevic his mood got a further boost when he was approached by Jeroen van den Berg of the Corus Chess Tournament, who invited him to play in the top group coming January. Wang Yue didn’t have to think long and accepted immediately!
According to the LIVE rating ranking, Wang Yue is now at a whopping 2736, the highest mark ever by any Chinese player!

Wang Yue is definatelly a discovery of the year. Not a lot of people knew his name before the Grand Prix in Baku four months ago.
