This was a big surprise! The USCF Scholastic Council presented this first ever award to me today.
During the past 8 – 9 days, I met dozens and dozens of scholastic organizers, supporters, coaches, parents and sponsors, etc. There are more unity among the scholastic people than ever due to the USCF election fiasco. I am hopeful that there will be many more good things to come.
Thank you everyone for your help!

Congratulations!!
They picked the ideal person to recieve their inaugural award.
Thanks for being such an advocate for the kids
Congratulations again!
Susan,
I just want to add my congratulations — you thoroughly deserve this award!

Congrats Susan,
keep on the GREAT work!

Just to add my congratulations also. This was so very well-merited.
Hi Susan,
You completely deserve it.
However, now we have a convicted felon and sexual wanderer on the USCF board. I wonder if the powers that be that lied in the delegates meeting about Sam Sloan having cleaned up his website decided to try to appease you with this award? A piece of paper is cheap if it makes you think twice about leaving them. I am being sarcastic; yet honest here, but next year, hopefully Sam Sloan won’t sign the same award…
This organization is now severely tainted; and I am not sure what do. I am tempted to drop any and all support for chess all-together and let someone else take-over. Hopefully, I helped a great deal to get the college chess ball rolling; and someone else can now step in. My life would be simpler without the politics; and I can find another healthy hobby to support our kids. I am disgusted, but what to do? What to do? I would love your advice.
Just my very frustrated take,
Gregory
Gregory,
This award did not come from the USCF. In fact, I was not even invited to the USCF luncheon to accept this award.
As you can see from the list, the SPF and Polgar Committee did not receive any award. I was not on any of their list either.
This award was created and given to me by the scholastic council and these are the people who fight to protect the kids. That is why it meant a lot more.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
