What do you think of the 2 US lineups?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
The mens and womens dont play the same country at the same time? Why not?
I think that we have a good shot at winning, but we have to put in 150% of our possible effort because both teams seem pretty strong, especially China. We don’t play the same country at the same time because the swiss pairings are separate. In other words, China and Mongolia both don’t have the same amount or a similar amount in both. China is just a half point below us and Mongolia is far below us in mens’. In womens’, Mongolia has the same amount of points as us, while China is below us.
If results from ICC are correct, even though Gata Kamsky lost, team USA came through and beat the powerful CHina team 2 1/2 – 1 1/2.
The Women’s Team drew Bulgaria a very good result. Them major upset was NED beat the Russian team.
The US teams are about to break all Olympic records! Both the women and the men are so close to becoming champions! Great job by USCF!!
