1.Rb3 Qa5 2.Qd6+ Kf7 3.Rf1! White has strong threats on the kingside like Nxf6 & Bh5+.
1.Rc3
and the Black Queen is marooned on the a-file, after which
2.Qd6+
starts a strong attack.
I think, Lab, you meant Rb3, which is correct, in my opinion, as it drives the queen off the a3/f8 diagonal:
1. Rb3 Qa5 (Qa4 is much worse)
2. Qd6 Ke8 (Kf7, 3. Ng5+)
3. Qc6 Nd7
4. Qa8 wins a rook, and the attack is still ongoing. As I mentioned above,
2. …..Kf7
3. Ng5 Kg8
4. Qe7 Ra7 (only move)
5. Qa7 Bd7
6. Ne4 wins easily.
Of all the alternatives, black should just exchange the queen for the rook right at the beginning.
1.Rb3 Qa5 followed by 2.Qd6+ and 3.Ra3.
1.Rb3 forces the Black Q off the a3-f8 diagonal and opens the way for 2Qd6+. Working just from looking at the diagram, I haven’t worked out the followup, but it smells like a kill. Bh5+ is in there somewhere, and if Black’s king retreats back to g8 the g-file can be opened with Nxf6+. The right track?
