1. RxR, g2
2. Rc8, g1(Q)+
3. Kd6+ K/any
4. g8(Q) wins
What about
1.Rxg8 g2 2.Rc8! g1=Q+ 3.Kc5+ and white is a rook up!
1.Rxg8-g2
2.Rc8-g1=Q+
3.Kd5+
1.Rxg8 g2 2.Rc8 g1=Q+ 3.Kb5+ and 4.g8=Q and white is a rook up in the ensuing endgame. Do not see anything else but I maybe wrong as this does not seem too “tricky” to me…
Beelze
HEre is my solution:
1. Rxg8 g2
2. Rc8 g1=Q+
3. K move any square discovered check
and Any move by Black Queens the g pawn 🙂
Rh7! Zugswang
I would say that white is going to lose, because he has clearly played like an idiot to reach this position.
He will not find the saving resource.
1.Rxg8 g2 2.Rc8! g1(Q)+ 3.Kd6+ K moves 4.g8(Q).
1. Rxg8 g2
2. Rc8 g1=Q+
3. Kb5+ Kd4
4. g8=Q
Hello.
1. Rxg8 , g2
2. Rc8 , g1=Q+
3. Kb5+ , Kd3
4. g8=Q
Greetings from Spain
I’ll give it a shot (but I have very weak endgame skills)
1. RxR g2
2. Kd5 (get out of the way of the check from the newly queened pawn)
…g1=Q
3. Rd1+ K moves
4. g8=Q
or 2. …Kd3 attempting to avoid the check from the rook, but it doesn’t help
3. Rd8 g1=Q
4. Ke5+ …K moves
5 g8=Q and we have a K+Q+R vs. K+Q which should be a win for white.
Someone tell me where I’ve gone wrong….
Rxg8 g2
R-c8 g1Q+
K-d6+ K moves
g8Q
Possibly …
1. Rxg8 g2
2. Rc8 g1=Q+
3. Kb5+ Kd3
4. g8=Q and White is a Rook up.
I would play…
1. Kd5 g2
2. Rxg8 g1Q
3. Rc8 + K moves
4. g8Q
and white should be atleast a rook up. i hope i got it right.
-RJ 🙂
1.
1.Rxg8…g2
2.Rc8!…g1=Q+
3.Kd5 discovered check wins.
1 Rxg8 g2 2 Rc8 g1+ 3 Kd5+ and 4 g=Q
Olimat
1. Rxg8 g2 2. Rc8 g1=Q+ and for example 3. Kb5+ Kd3 4. g8=Q might be possible.
Rxg7 g2
Rc8 g1=Q+
Kd6+ K somewhere
g8=Q and white is up a rook
To -RJ
Your variant is draw.
4. g8=Q , Qd4+
5. Ke6 , Qe4+
6. Kf7 , Qf4+
7. Kg7 , Qe5+
Draw for continous check
Greetings
JM
Hello
1. Rxg8 , g2
2. Rc8 , g1=q+
3. Kb5+ , Kd4
4. g8=Q , Qb1+
5. Ka4 , Qa1+
6. Kb3 , Qb1+
7. Ka3 , Qa1+
8. Qa2
and continous check is bot possible and white wins.
Greetings from Spain
To RJ and Jose:
After Kd5 black does NOT move pawn to g2. He takes the pawn on g7 and wins …
Most people here got it right. Take the rook, and then move the king (or Rc8)
