Otherwise Fischer had a 4000+ performance against in his 1971 candidates.
So the 3288 are not a real performance rating.

It is very well known that performances CANNOT be defined if someone has 100% or 0%…
You know very well, but other people don’t and it is kind of missinforming.
It seems impressive but is totally irrelevant. An example to make things obvious: Any GM 2500 can easily do 4/4 with 2000 elo players. This according to the formula you used implies a 2800 performance. But I don’t know a single GM saying proudly that he had 2800 performance when he just beat 4 players with 2000 …
better check his teeth fillings.Or perhaps his happydent gum packet.
Maybe he is using Topalov’s coach to send Rybka moves by blinking moves in binary code using his left eye ball to blink the moves to him. He confirms the move by digging his right finger into his left nostril.
