Muahahaha. Gata Kamsky plays the french defense against Veselin Topalov. Muahahaha.
hello. does rybka3 have av evaluation this early?
Since so many of you cannot act properly with your comments you do not deserve any analysis of this game.Maybe you will learn a lesson, but i seriously doubt it.
Bad, bad people…. Just bad.Now don’t do it again. Bad.
does anyone have rybkas evaluation after 18…Nd5?
Topalov is completely lost !
… or maybe you’re completely clueless?
Rybka sees slight edge to Black, but more or less even. Fritz and Shredder see Black as better by about 1/2 pawn.
20.Qd3 would give White some compensation.
Who died? Does anyone know?
how can topa not die on the queenside after Qxa2 now?
21. Qxd4 Qxc2 22. cxd5 Qxa2
23. Qb6 Rae8 24. Qxb7 Rf7 25. d6
Looks like something Topalov would aim for.
can someone tell me that 10.0 Fritz said at that position?
I can’t tell you what Fritz 10 tells at this position, but I can tell you that Borislav Mytov tell draw in spite of Kamsky’s pawn advantage.
Or rybka3. Whats the rating of fritz10? fritz11 is how high, like 3080 maybe?
after 23.Qb6 Rybka (on chessok) says sth like -0.30 for black after a line starting with 23..Rae8. For me it looks like Kamsky now has to find some ‘only’ moves to keep this slight advantage.
Anyhow, an unbalanced position like this where any side may go wrong at any moment is definitely better for Kamsky (who is trailing in the match with only one other game to go) then a quiet line with no winning chances for black at all.
yes, the opposite colored bishops will likely nullify the material advantage. Along with topalovs strong d (or e in a while) pawn
“Who died? Does anyone know?”
Topalov dies TODAY !!!
You’re all infected with engine analysis and politics. Phew. That’s why chess will never be a part of my life.
perhaps again the clock will play a big part…
Thw queen on b6 is very nice.
Ok, both players MUST be cheating.. They are both making Rybka moves!
a3 well, there you have it… kamsky tell rybka to shove its analysis. hmm…
23…a6.
Rybka says it’s -0.32 (after 24.Qd6 Ba4) which means slightly better for black.
“….That’s why chess will never be a part of my life.”
How stupid are you, dumbass.
We all know that there is not one single visitor to this site who is NOT interested in chess.
But maybe you just suck at chess…
At this point 23…exd5 or Qb3 look promising for Gata.
Be7
is it just me, or does topa always go for more and more complications?
24.Be7.
Now this is not the best by Topdanailov.
Rybka says its now already -0.77 after 24..Rfe8 for Kamsky.
GATA GO !!!
yes, topa does do that
Topalov sure has e6 covered…
I think we may be even on material soon…
>>
How stupid are you, dumbass.

I think you might be the dummy here. Have you never heard of internet trolls? Anybody can come here and post, just to cause trouble, whether they care diddly about chess or not. Maybe all they care about is getting a rise out of people like you.
What about 25.Qxb7,Ba4 26.Ra1,Qxd5 27.Qxd5,exd5 28.Bxa3. Has black winning chances in this position?
24…Rfe8. Yep.
Kamsky made the move that Rybka suggested.
Now we will have a protest by Danailov for sure, because Toplaovs opponents are PROHIBITED to make moves suggested by Rybka.
25. Qd6.
now Rybka says 25…Bc6 and -0.72 for black.
Sorry, 25..Bc8 of course…
does anyone know what rybka3evaluation is after 25.Qd6
Rybka just switched to 25..Kf7 and -0.73 for black
oh, okay. Thanks
(25… Kf7 26. Bg5 Ba4 27. Rd2 Qc4 28. Rd4 Qc8 29. dxe6+ Rxe6 30. Qd5 Raa6 31. Rc1 Kg6 32. h4 Bc6 33. Qb3 Qe8 34. Qg3 Rybka Aquarium (0:01.55)-0.73|d18)
Thats enough of an advantage for gata to nurse to a win. after, and IF he can get to a simplified position
Rybka switched back to 25..Bc8 and gives a solid -0.89 for black then:
(25… Bc8 Rybka Aquarium (0:07.53)-0.89|d20 )

“Muahahaha. Gata Kamsky plays the french defense against Veselin Topalov. Muahahaha.”
Rybka said “-0.89”
I say: “Muahahaha”
I think its cool that gata just sits there staring at the big screen position to figure his move out while topa is staring at the board

What about 25.Qxb7,Ba4 26.Ra1,Qxd5 27.Qxd5,exd5 28.Bxa3. Has black winning chances in this position?
That looks like a way for White to try for a miserable draw, maybe hard for Black to win but he has the edge and White is TOTALLY passive. Topalov hates such positions; and he knows that Kamsky LOVES to play on in those positions. So he wouldn’t try it.
I think 23.Qb6 was a mistake, 23.Qb4 was correct. I thought the were the same as White will soon play Qxb7, but Qb6 allows a3. Qb4 would prevent that by the threat Rd2. Still, Black must have the better game?!
Topalov is constantly avoiding the draw by complicating the position taking to many risks for the sake of wining
No matter who wins, if anand keeps playing like this, he will be crushed. Anand was luck to get kramnik in a match, who could not play properly without toilet help.
when will Gata make his next move….i want Gata to win this once…
what does say Rybka ?
the clock gata, remember the clock. The clock….. okay?
“I think its cool that gata just sits there staring at the big screen position to figure his move out while topa is staring at the board”
Actually the big screen gives the position from the white side. Gata uses this for sure to think about THE BEST PLAN FOR WHITE IN THIS POSITION in order to counter this…
You should use this trick (looking from the opponents side) also in your tournament games to think about the best options for your opponent!
BRUZ
Kamsky is well behind on the clock again in a difficult position.
I want that topalov win this game, ATTACK vs DEFENSE, I prefer attack
There comes a point of diminishing returns, meaning there is a point in time beyond which thinking is not going to get you anything more. Kamsky is just wearing himself down. He doesn’t have the heart of a lion (champion).
>>No matter who wins, if anand keeps playing like this, he will be crushed.>>
LOL, too funny. “Short Attention Span Theater” at its finest. But yea, if we ignore Anand’s whole career and take only games played in one week in February 2009, and base his odds on that… then we’re complete idiots. (Or at least you are).
Not that either Topalov or Kamsky right here and now is looking any better than Anand is right here and now. Topalov’s done nothing the whole match. Kamsky played one really good game, but piddled away two more.
kamsky is going to go on and lose this BECAUSE OF THE CLOCK!
is the clock i can see on the official site the actual clock that they have? or is it just an irrelevant little group of pixels?
This sucks…I am so far behind everybody on the moves (now move 24 for me)…any good fast links?
18 min only for Gata for 15 moves.
This is a key factor in such a critical position.
Gatas’ time management is a tragedy.
It killed Korchnoi in 1978 in his match against Karpov…
Topalov is laughing on the inside, he is getting the match handed to him!
go to wccc2009.com to see it live
GATA,
MAKE A MOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this must be a hypno screen he staring at. somebody to wake him?
then you can watch gata lose live BECAUSE OF THE CLOCK!
10 min left for 15 moves
Kamsky now has less than 10 minutes to reach move 40, Topalov has 40 minutes
i feel like reaching through the screen and grabbing him and and scream at him to MOVE! just MOVE! whats wrong with you have you not learned a lesson YET?!???!
damon thanks for the link..
Gata is too slow, I don’t know why he is not making a move…
White now gets a very dangerous passed d-pawn
He took more than 30 minutes to make one blunder!! Ba4?
That’s as usual.
If you think too long you will most likely make NOT the best move…
Toppa’s passed pawn looks unstoppable now.
Ba4?! Long Think equals wrong think once again! Bc8 or Kf7 or even Bb5 are OK with Bc8 winning. Now he will drop the e6 pawn AND the a3 pawn….remember that on a4 the B blocks the rook!! How could he play so badly from a winning position? Will he even lose on time now? I don’t like Topalov and cheer for Gata even though he does NOT deserve to play at this level, but why must he keep making such bad plays?
7 minutes for the next 13 moves….oh no!
Now Topalov can ‘cook’ a surprise line
I don’t like Topalov and cheer for Gata even though he does NOT deserve to play at this level, but why must he keep making such bad plays?
He wants to leave Bulgaria after the match.
Why, oh why, not Kf7
Gata must be playing for 27.Ra1 Qc4 28.Ra3 Bb3 and he will win White’s passed pawn but give up his f5 pawn. Can’t play a win with his outside pawn here, not enough complications left to overcome the B.O.O.C. Draw. Wasted chance.
every time he goes into these long thinks he plays less than the best move, except for i time in game 1. he plays better the less time he uses
I think Gata may have missed Bc8 because it’s a psychologically hard to find move, as it puts the piece on its’ home square…
just to insert some psychological aspect here…
I think white can draw now
28.Rxa3,Bb3 29.Bf6!?
But maybe he is playing for more!
I hope Kamsky at least got some nice action with the eastern european girls while he was there. His time in Bulgaria is just about to end.
Topalov is cooking his surprise line right now and will speed it out in order to push Gata over the time-limit….
Niels is correct, Bf6 will force a draw. But that doesn’t look like a Topalov move. Unless he will try to find a good line for next 15 minutes and if nothing is there then force immediate draw.
oh boy. Toppa should play faster.
28.Rec1.
gata is a shame. he has such enormous talent, what a waste. I guess he’ll just QUITE again after this. topa hasnt really played better, gata has simply lost these, not get out thought
This is the surprise line, dropping the obvious Ra3: which Kamsky will have calculated…
Wow Bc2 now!?
Maybe Topalov should have opted for the main line Ra3:
Gata found the right reply and Rybka has him back in the race with -0.18
(28… Bc2 Rybka Aquarium (0:01.54)-0.18
a2 now and Gata is WINNING!!!!!
Unfortunately this seems to be the end for gata nice run though!
(30… b5 31. Qc7 Qxc7 32. dxc7 Bb3 33. Bd6 Rac8 34. Rc5 Bc4 35. f4 Re2 36. Rc6 Bg8 37. g3 Bd5 38. Rc5 Bc4 39. Rc6 Bg8 40. h4 Bc4 41. Rb6 Kg8 42. Rb8 Ree8 43. Be5 Rybka Aquarium (0:00.36)-1.65|
Gata is winning with this line…
31..Reb8
It’s now 0.00 according to Rybka
I don’t think Rybka is playing this game!
I have never seen so many blunders in a single GM game… now white is winning (after move 32)
Topalov has won this match by pure INTIMIDATION.
…32Rc8 final mistake
Unfortunately, Gata missed b4. It’s the end of the match for him.
31… Reb8 was the big blunder before.
31… b4 would have easily won for Gata with -2.29 according to Rybka.
As I said before, this was deliberately plaayed by Toplaov to kick Gata out of calculating time
thats the comment of the day! hehe bush clearing brush haha! and you got to audacity to be right about topy!!
Maybe Topalov should think about avoiding the 1st rank noob’s mate. 🙂
Topalov’s advantage is crushing now.
Gata looks like he is about to have a nervous break down.
I think Kamsky is going to resign soon
Kamsky has almost given up…look at the video feed. He has his hands on his head, nodding off..does not look good for him.
Topalov should play g3/h3 at some point.
Gata is making faces before resigning. Acting. Crap. And he takes home 250 g’s. For what?? Not resigning. Bad mennerisms. Boo.
What are the GMs saying on other sites?
kamsky will quite after this. he will never get another chance to be so close to another world title match
Why are their surnames in bold, on the table?
C’mon , time for handshake
Black was never winning this game, those engine assessments which gave black as winning were typical materialistic computer assessments. White’s position was far too active and centralized for him to be losing or even only equal. Black’s position was extremely difficult in spite of the material advantage.
Anand is quitting chess, I heard. Going to make babies and live like a family should.
Sportmanship looks another way, gata!
okay
Gata wil never resign to a Bulgarian with a weak back rank.
Gata is waiting for a miracle. Like Topa getting a heart attack.
pinbred
I give Kamsky credit for showing up. Topalov must the most intimidating player out there at this moment in time.
Congratulations to Topalov. Although Kamsky lost the match more because of blunders rather than Topalov’s brilliant moves, still, a win is a win…
no, they dont play an 8th game. Its over now after 7. 4.5 – 2.5 topa wins though he didnt play better than gata
They are paid by the number of moves played, right? So, the game goes on.
Gata should appeal to the appeals committee for something.
Carlsen now has a girlfriend who doesn’t like chess, but formula races.
Is Gata thinking to go on this game?? Topa looked at him patiently :]
How difficult can it be to say:
Congratulations, Topa. Although you play stupid, I resign. Good luck in your next match.
I can already see the chess journalists waiting to take a snapshot of the resignation. Their fingers must be hurting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone predicting a verbal fight now? Or physical?
He could try saying “Look over there! Behind you! Argh!”, then when Topalov looks round, swapping the board around so he’s playing white. It might work, you never know.
Chess is so boring to watch, especially if you can’t play it.
I told you all. He’s playing a rook down in endgame, shameful embarassment for USA chess school.
very disappointing performance from both players, kamsky even worse. they can do much better…but this match was crap
Kamsky is trying for counter play, maybe somehow working out a perpetual check situation. He is lost now…no chance.
‘Kamsky is trying for counter play’
Kamsky is embarassing himself only.
Topalov crushed Kamsky with less than his A game which he is saving for a few months from now.
Its over 1-0
Give Topa American citizenship?
Was interesting seeing two arbiters asses live?! Why didn’t they go from other side of board?
Viva Topa, viva Bulgaria!!!
There is just no way a Bulgarian can be better in anything than a USA.
Gata is a good player, but he seemed to self-destruct. I was disappointed not to see some Najdorf action…
Let’s go, Vishy!
Kamsky a looser of 2 games in 7 games because of unavailability of looking at the clock :))
Really this was so so funny thank God at least Topalov-Anand match will be more exciting then a Anand-Kamsky match (if Kamsky looses 2 games in a 8 game match on time, so he would loose 3 games on time against Anand if He had won this “so long” macth 🙂
I don’t like Topalov and now am sure Anand will smash out his brain 😀
Let me see…A Bulgarian speaks 3-4 languages, an American speaks 1/2…A Bulgarian is well-educated and outspoken, an American still believes that Bolivia and Bavaria more or less connote the same thing…A Bulgarian has a sense of culture and boasts a 1350+-year old history, while an American has no sense of culture and boasts the violence of 300 years of exterminating others…and finally, when a Bulgarian competes against an American, the Bulgarian wins!
We need a match between Kramnik vs Rybka 3 to decide correct world champion. Those boys are so funny!
BREAKING NEWS!: New GM couple!!! GM Robert Fontaine has married GM Kateryna Lahno!!!
Ok, 250,000 for the 200th poster?
‘The outcome is quite logical.’
Logic is the name of the game!
“New GM couple!!! GM Robert Fontaine has married GM Kateryna Lahno!!!”
http://ratings.fide.com/seek.phtml?idcode=&name=lahno&offset=0
says Lahno is both a GM and a WIM!!!! So which is it??????
Thanks, Susan, for the space to blog our thoughts and analises.
Now over to Linares!
A sad day.
Fly the flags at half mast.
Gata is still the best even if he lost.
Kateryna Lahno (born December 27, 1989) is a Ukrainian chess player. She earned the FIDE title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM) at the age of 12 years and 4 months, breaking Judit Polgar’s record to become the youngest ever to earn this title. She is now a full Grandmaster (GM).[1] Born in Lviv, Lahno grew up in the industrial and chess-friendly town Kramatorsk. In 2005 she lives in Donetsk.
‘I need volunteers for drawing chess cartoons?’
‘How much you paying for one?’
Maybe he could pay you in chess lessons.
‘Gata is still the best even if he lost.’
If you mean the best at blowing good positions, I agree. Topalov did nothing special to win this match except sit back and let it fall in his lap. And that’s not a criticism of Topalov.
“It’s only for sportsmanship that Bulgaria has such an evil reputation.”
Ermmm… after all, the cables were found in Kramnik’s toilet, right? 🙂
yall cold man, cold! ehehe
Ermmm… after all, the cables were found in Kramnik’s toilet, right? 🙂
~~
Actually, they were found in Topalov’s. He used that room in half the games.
But come on, don’t pretend not to understand the issue after all this time. Topalov has a reputation as a bad sport for the same reason Shak is getting one now. Shak won’t look any better if he turns out to have been right.
LOL, lamest excuse for losing ever. There was electrical wiring in the walls. And people wonder why Toppy still has a bad rep.
You do realize that Topalov was found guilty by the Ethics Committee on that. The jury isn’t exactly out on that case any more. But Topalov has at least finally shut up about it. It’s only his misguided friends who work to keep his reputation bad these days.
Hope you see the fun side to this comment.
There is a funeral service for Kamsky’s chances too!
Am glad this got over without any controversy,
“Am glad this got over without any controversy”
Wait for Kamsky to return home. I’m sure he will find some reason why he lost. f not Gata, Rustam certainly will.
Just wait for a few days and remember my words.
Was reading the comments on the first page…
LOL, lots of “experts” were analyzing how blacks had a big advantage :))
“There was electrical wiring in the walls.”
And going to the toilet after every move, 50 times a game is sooo cool 🙂
Kramnik had some prostate problems probably 🙂
Uh oh! An so called American lost to Bulgarian?
Guys, prepare for US invasion to your country. They’ll come to Bulgaria to fight Al’kaida and bring some “democracy”.
Anon 11:16,
Yes, Kamsky looses his games when he manages the clock so recklessly. I bet he could have tightened his games if he’d been smarter with the clock.
@Anonymous 12:50PM: I think those ‘experts’ included computers – which cannot be accused of any bias towards either player, but just tell the truth about a given position. Finding the best moves over the board, under pressure, in time trouble is of course another story … .
I’m sure he will find some reason why he lost. If not Gata, Rustam certainly will.
You’re just trying to cheer me up. The post-match show could be fun indeed, now that you mention it.
A>>
nd going to the toilet after every move, 50 times a game is sooo cool :)>>
Topalov’s reputation IS permanently stained. Like it or not, you can see that now. You can whine all you want about he disgraced himself in a good cause but it doesn’t matter a hill of beans. The key thing is that he disgraced himself.
I knew it from the beggining that topalov was going to win. Kamsky is not match to Topalov, i’m sorry for saying this, but is true.
I knew it from the beggining that kamsky was going to lose. Topa is not match to Gata, i’m not sorry for saying this, but is true.
