1. Nc6+ Kf7 2. Ne5+ if 2… Kg8 then 3. Qxf8+ and 4. Rc8# and if 2… Kf6 then 3. Rc6+ and 4. Rxe6#
1. Qc6+, King takes Knight (forced)
2. Qc8 (checkmate)…
Hope this is correct…
Sure, Anon but there is one more (… for dessert) Thursday evening tactic
Oops..
Qc6 fails to (QxQ)
1. Ne6+ Kf7
2. Ng5+
…Kg8
3. Qxf8 Kxf8
Rc8#
…Kf6
3. Rc6 e6
4. Re6#
…Kg6
3. Qe8+ Kf6
4. Qf7#
so black must Qxg5
3. hxg5 wins a queen
oops nikolai’s is better
“Sure, Anon but there is one more”
Which one? The two lines which ano posted seem to be the only variations?
Jochen,
Anon did it correctly but there is one interesting alternative checkmate. Just follow the variations I posted.
Wow, the colors used in the diagram are hidious…

Ok I see it now. Very nice.
Nikolai, you posted the line after Kg8 with 3. Qxf8+ – ano mentioned it.
And you posted the failure try with Ng5+ Qxg5 – I do not think you meant this.
Maybe I just can’t use your exercise tool but I do not find more checkmates than the one ano also posted!?
Best wishes from Germany
Jochen
