If you do something like this in the US, people like Lafferty and Sloan would scream their heads off. People like them is the #1 reason why chess suffers in this country. They don’t care about anyone but their own ego.
Why do you worry about Lafferty and Sloan? They’re nobody in chess and they’re just desperate for any kind of attention, even when people laugh at them. Move on mate.
I’ve heard of Sloan – and don’t need to again – but haven’t heard of Lafferty.
They sound like a beacon of negativity, a Dickensian legal firm out of Bleak House .
Medals are handy, and don’t take up too much houseroom: neat.
