This is Susan and Dr. Russell Floyd! They are two of the people who made this event possible! Special thanks to both and to the entire Princeton Community as well the Princeton Public Library, Corner House, PNC bank for this memorable event!
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
My comments after loooking at the various Princeton photos just posted on Susan’s great blog:
1. What a great turnout even after some very bad weather in that part of the U.S.
2. Chess is a great sport whether you are young or old, black or white or brown, rich or poor, blind or sighted, native-born or immigrant, male or female, known or unknown, etc!
3. Some of those boards are so wrinkled that I’m surprised the pieces stayed upright! Maybe the cold weather had something to do with that and/or maybe the organizer needs to provide ironing board services! 😉
4. GM Susan Polgar is a class act…when someone earlier posted that they had won, I should not have doubted that Susan would mention the results. She even posted the winners’ names and posed for a photo with both of them! Susan truly embodies her own motto of winning with grace and losing with dignity.
Thank you Susan, your photos made my day, and I’m sure that event will be remembered by those attendees for their lifetime.
