IM Altounian was joking earlier that he is the “old man” of the tournament because he is older than Yang and Naroditsky combine 🙂 But after 2 rounds, he is showing the young guns how it is done by leading tournament with the 2-0 score!
There were a lot of exciting games in the second round. Both Naroditsky and Yang had excellent winning chances but their opponents managed to hang on at the end. Altounian and Esserman pulled off very difficult and complicated wins.
