The chess calendar is kind of light in the next few weeks other than two super events featuring World Champion Vladimir Kramnik.
#1 April 24–30 – Rapid Match between Kramnik and Leko in Miskolc, Hungary
#2 May 4–6 – Rapid Match between Kramnik and Aronian in Yerevan, Armenia
Then the next super event will be Mtel from May 9–20 in Sofia, Bulgaria with Veselin Topalov, Liviu Dieter Nisipeanu, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Gata Kamsky, Michael Adams and Krishnan Sasikiran.
Who do you pick to win the Kramnik – Leko match? Who do you pick to win the Kramnik – Aronian match? And who do you pick to win Mtel?
I have just be told by Martin Thoresen of Norway about 2 more strong events:
The first one is the Carlsen-Radjabov rapid match on Corsica on the 18th of May.
The second one is the Gausdal Classics 2007 in Norway from the 18th of April to the 26th of April. In the GM-A group we have Carlsen, Krasenkow, Dreev and 7 more in (among them Moskow and Krush from the USA!)
Peter add the Sigeman tournament http://www.sigeman-chess.com
Thanks Martin and Peter! This is the great things about blogs! We can share information so fast for the benefits of chess!
Kramnik over Leko
Kramnik over Aronian
Shakhriyar Mamedyarov 1st place.
Gata Kamsky 2nd place.
Susan,
There is two other events you might want to promote on your blog too.

As for the Carlsen-Radjabov rapid match, I’ve yet to see a website.
Best Regards,

I am going to be in St. Petersburg, and Krakow during the weeks of June 18 and June 25th. How can I find out if there are any signficant events in these areas during that time. It would be really nice if I were able to attend one, even if just as a spectator. Thanks for any suggetions, or responses.
Kramnik, Kramnik, Mamedyarov, Radjabov, Carlsen
sorry I forgot that Mtel was in Sofia so Topalov is more lucky because I am sure he will see Danailov in somewhere! The true order is Kramnik, Kramnik, Mamedyarov, Radjabov, Carlsen but the “revised” order is Kramnik, Kramnik, Topalov (because of being into homeland, but true winner must be Mamedyarov simply the best of Mtel list this year), Radjabov and Carlsen.
It is great to see Nisipeanu at Mtel. Also, Michael Adams hasn’t been in the spotlight for awhile. This should be refreshing.
