Italian Olympiad Teams in Tromso
The Italian team: GM Fabiano Caruana (on july 30th his 22nd birthday) GM Alberto David, GM Sabino Brunello (25), GM Danil Dvirny (24), GM Daniele Vocaturo (25).
The female Italian team: IM/WGM Olga Zimina, IM/WGM Elena Sedina, FM/WIM Marina Brunello (20), Roberta Messina (21) and Tea Gueci (14, she won the Italian women championship in 2012 when only twelve!).
Official sponsor of the teams, the important company ‘Obiettivo Risarcimento’ from Padova (Padua) – the chess team of ‘Obiettivo Risarcimento’ that includes Caruana and Nakamura is Italian club champion and played in the European Club Cup and will be in Bilbao.
There will be two other Italian chess players: IM Duilio Collutiis in the International Deaf team (ICCD) and Ruben Bernardi in the International Blind team (IBCA).
An Italian is also in the Arbiter staff: Carlo Callegher.
