I can’t find the solution.
1.Qd3 Qxe7 2.Rxd7 Qh4+ 3.Kf3 Qh5+ 4.Kg3 1-0.
That happened in actual play
Yep, he played Qd3…. I am not sure if I would have ever found that.
1…Qd3!
main point is: 2.Qxc7 Nf6+ 3.Bxf6 Qxg6+ 4.Kh8 Qg8#
Or if 3.Kh8 Nxg6#
and if 2.Qxe7 Rxd7 3.Qh4+ Kf3 4.Qh5+ Kg3 and black should (and indeed did) resign.
the thing is that Carlsen had to see this a few moves ahead. Otherwise he would just lose material. I don’t think I ‘d be able to find it when the position is on board.
A computer finds the move by looking only 3 moves ahead.
And an deeper analysis of this terrible game shows many severe blunders on each side.
I strongly advice everybody here to follow the ICGA Tournament instead!
It looks like Magnus is losing, but he had it all clear and played Qd3!!, and black is lost. An unbelievable move.
At their level, Qd3 is trivial.
Now, at our level, that may not be the case.
“And an deeper analysis of this terrible game shows many severe blunders on each side.”
This is not the case.
No blunders at all. A very well played game by both. Only after Ra1 Black loses, but that was hard to see and the computer sees that only after 1 minute calculation…
Another question:
What would Carlsen play after 1.Qd3 Qxc7 2.Nf6+ Nxf6 ?

Answer to “Another Question:”
2. Nf6+ is NOT played.
Instead Ng5+ with mate.

“No blunders at all”
The 2 moves before Qd3 where horrible
by white and black.
(Rybka says that Kf2 played by the
norwegian genius is more than 4 pawns
wore than Kh2)
And the game was definitly ended by the stupidious move 29 … Ra6
“stupidious”… i’ll have to add that to my “chess-player’s dictionary of the english language”, along with “genious”, “looser”, and “analise”.
@Pelle
Indeed Kh2 is a simpler win that Kf2. But you cannot call Kf2 a blunder when that also wins. A blunder by definition is something that changes the outcome of the game. if there is mate in 3 and mate in 5, and one goes for mate in 5, do you call that a blunder ?
Ofcourse …Ra6 by topalov is a mistake. That is a different story.

Why not use
http://www.urbandictionary.com
it has entries like this:
stupidqueerafagalisticidioticdopus
n. Someone who is not only stupid, but a queer, a fag, and idiot and a dope.
Remember that cool Disney song “StupidQueerAFagalisticIdioticDopus”?

As for Blunder, please do not look it up in that dictionary. What I mean by
blundering is to miss something obvious.
I hate this
