The next few months will be a very interesting time in the United States. Senator John McCain has already secured the nomination from the Republican Party.
Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are still battling for the nomination from the Democratic Party.
Their choices for VP candidates will be crucial to win the election at the end of the year. Who should Senator McCain pick as his running mate? Condoleezza Rice, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani or Fred Thompson?
What about Senators Clinton and Obama? Should they join force on one ticket or should they go with someone else?
What do you think? Please use our intelligent chess logic to bring up the pros and cons and not insult either party or any of the candidates.
It doesn’t matter who McCain picks as his running mate, he’s gonna get crushed either way. The Democrats will unite in force behind whomever wins the Democrat nomination, Obama or Hillary. The Republicans will not unite behind McCain like that. He’s so liberal that conservatives are reluctant to vote for him.
If Hillary wins, she should try to get Obama as a running mate because she can use his charm and charisma. People fall all over him. But Obama can get along without Hillary if he wins the nomination, so he shouldn’t bother trying to get her as a running mate. But those two being running mates isn’t really in the works anyway. It’s obvious that they hate one another’s guts.
Senator McCain should pick Romney. He’s young and a true conservative. Hillary should ask Obama if she wins but he should pick someone else if he wins.
Politics is the opposite of :
WIN WITH GRACE, LOSE WITH DIGNITY!(TM) – 2005-2008 Susan Polgar ©
Obama and Al Gore, 08.
Good VPs:
Obama for Clinton
Edwards for Obama
Huckabee for McCain
Susan Polgar for President!
1. Obamma x Edwards #
If he wants to win, Obama will pick James Webb, senator from Virginia. Like Edwards he is a white guy from a southern state, but he’s far more centrist than Edward’s (and less teflon slick). Most importantly, he was Sec. of the Navy in the Reagan Administration, which temper Obama’s anti-Iraq stance with a degree of realism.
The Democrats should unite by running the 2 on the same ticket. whoever wins gets the Presidency and the loser gets the VP post. Any other choice is not so good.
I do not think they hate each other. They simply are in a struggle with the other.
I would like to see Hillary and Obama now and then Obama run in 8 years of unified party. Obama claims to want to unify the country but he is unwilling to unify the democrats. I do not see him unifying the country. I see the country getting torn apart. Obama has not shown any unifying at all.
Everyone wanted Bush and now they want to get rid of him. Everyone wanted Spitzer as Gov of NY and now everyone wants to get rid of him. The newest fad is everone wants Obama. Look out. Chicago Politics is totally corrupt. I can not believe that Obama is the innocent. Obama used Rezco to purchase his house cheap. That was not innocent.
Bush and the Republicans have almost destroyed this country.
I would strongly disagree with the first poster’s comments about McCain getting crushed. This sounds more like what he wants than rational analysis of what will actually happen.
Most polls show McCain easily defeating Hillary (I think she has almost no chance in a national election), and winning a closer contest against Obama.
Very unlikely we’ll see Clinton & Obama on the same ticket. They genuinely don’t like each other, Obama has said he didn’t want to be her VP candidate, and I can’t imagine her accepting the 2nd spot on his ticket.
While conservatives aren’t wild about McCain, he’s certainly a more appealing to them than Clinton or Obama. As for the general election, Obama’s seen as an inexperienced empty suit and too ultra-liberal by most voters, while most see Hillary as simply too unlikeable and insincere. I don’t think either can win a national election. McCain is almost certain to win in November.
The Chess game in Politics:
Who will win? Black or White?
or will it be a draw (Joint Ticket)?
hillary will resort to anything to win the election.. she knows she has no chance to win so shell take cheap shots at obama… she wants florida and michagan to count even though barack never campaigned in either state and completly withdrew his name in michigan from the ballot.. like a mlb baseball game being cancelled and one team still shows up and plays the game against a bunch of people form the street .. the pro team runs up the score and thinks the game should count… thats hilarious.. shes behind by 160 pledged delagates… dont know why the superdelagtes are in her favour but the only thing i can think fo is she has alot of support from democratic party insiders… shes a degenerate.. i cant stand the bitch … she should have dropped out by now… she should know when you cant win and get out

id like to add that obama easily beats mcain and hillary loses badly to mcain…he matchess up much better against mcain than she does… republicans know this and want hillary to win against obama… people are looking for a new voice and a new direction… there tired of the old stodgy washington insiders.. the republicans are terrified of obama… they know mcain has no chance against obama…
The politics will get interesting when dead bodies start showing up in the oddest places.
You think Governor of New York was a hit? You have seen nothing yet.
The reason why Obama doesn’t want Hillary as a running mate is beacuse if they win: he will be the first black president who meets an untimely demise, and Hillary will then become the first lesbian president.
Look up how many people have died in the path of the Clinton’s rise to power.
Click on my name to see the evidence for yourself!
Obama is no dummy!
Whoever the Democrat Party nominates, Richardson should be the VP candidate. Neither Obama nor Clinton has any experience to put up against McCain.
My personal hope is that McCain picks Huckabee. Then the Dems can run that clip of him expressing his belief that the constitution should be changed to be in accord with the Bible.
Yeah, that’s who I want a heartbeat away!
Go Huckabee!!!!
It seems our democracy is poised in a very precarious position.
No politics, not even chess politics, on this blog please.
Nothing new is likely to be said here first.
Yeah, I agree this is a bad idea.
McCain will be a great 1-term president! He must pick a good V.P. so his VP can run for president in 2012 and ensure the GOP remains in the White House. Jeb Bush would be a good choice for VP but I don’t think the public would be very happy with this choice. However, there are many good Republican Governors that can serve as McCain’s V.P.
McCain is a Senator and needs a VP with executive experience…such as a Governor.
He will be the next president. So, who he chooses as V.P. wil be interesting as that person will, hopefully, become president in 2012 and serve two full terms…thus, ensuring the Republican party…the only party that can defend America, act unilaterally as we MUST do at times (after all, what’s anyone going to do about it? All of Europe is but a pawn of the U.S. and that’s why so many come here to live), and keep renegade nations in check and, if we must, use our great military to conduct “regime change” in just about any nation we want to do so.
Because we can.
and there isn’t a thing any other nation can do about it. We, America, is the most powerful nation on Earth and the history of human civilization.
And Putin, the EU and anyone else can only sit back in awe and be jealous….and realize that they will never be what the greates American president said of the U.S.:
that we, the U.S.A. is the “Last best hope for the Earth.”
And that’s what we are….the best and only hope to bring “civilization” back to humanity. And only the GOP can do this.
And, McCain will win in November…and all the Socialist Democrats can sit and cry and suck their thumbs.
Obama has been going to a church(for 20 years, so I guess Obama agrees with him!) with a anti-american reverend(Rev. Wright). It has been all over the news media…look for it and decide yourself. Go Hillary or McCain…It least I know they love their country!
All of these candidates are devils.
No one wins.
I prefer Obama: he is youger than Clinton.
