Which one of the following players will have the biggest success in 5 years?
Mamedyarov, Shakhriyar 2760 (1985)
Radjabov, Teimour 2735 (1987)
Carlsen, Magnus 2733 (1990)
Karjakin, Sergey 2732 (1990)
Cheparinov, Ivan 2713 (1986)
Another young player such as Caruana or Nakamura?
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Feels like aiming at an open goal: Magnus Carlsen. And only because he shows the most genuine will to understand chess.
Carlsen has significant Microsoft funding, which probably won’t hurt him. What kind of sponsorships do the other players have?
Live ratings, Carlsen has already passed Mamedyarov and Radjabov. And he is also the youngest of the five (Karjakin is 11 months older even though they are both born the same year)
08 Carlsen 2751,7 +18,7 (2) 15 1990
09 Mamedyarov 2751,6 -8,4 (1) 13 1985
10 Radjabov 2746,3 +11,3 (1) 13 1987
13 Karjakin 2732,0 0 (0) 0 1990
25 Cheparinov 2695,5 -17,5 (1) 13 1986
Magnus Carlsen looks very promising.
Fabiano Caruana is coming up fast!
Magnus Carlsen without a doubt. Of course, as long as he stays away from the Draw Fever that usually hit grandmaster these days.
It’s four possibilities:
Karjakin
Fabiano Caruana
Nakamura
A Chinese
Definitely not Cheparinov.
King Magnus and his court of weaker GM’s.
Carlsen, Mamdyarov & Radjabov seems to get the most invites to major tournaments so they have the advantage of learning from the best and also keeping their ratings.
I hope Karjakin & Cheparinov also get invites.
How can the list not include Nakamura? If he got as much funding as others, he would be Top 10 already.
They all have great talents. In the coming years, it depens on their dedication, hardworking and financial supports. I favor Carlsen.
Radjabov and later teddy-bear boy Nyzhnyk!!
I bet Magnus Carlsen surpasses all of the others within 5 years. He’s going to be amazing. He’s already amazing.
Sergey Karjakin will reign supreme.
magnus carlsen
fabiano
and hopefully me, WCM Claudia Munoz
age 10.

p.s. magnus has money from microsoft? how can i find more about that?
Google:
“magnus carlsen” microsoft
… and all will be revealed.
I was really impressed by Mamedyarov’s fast analysis (you can see in Youtube)… But he is too pessimistic… I remember his early resignations in some games of the Corus Tournament.
But Radjabov is very promissing! He is a very strong and have a admirable profissional manner… And also, he was born in Baku – Azerbaijan, like some other player that we know…

Very nice, sweet Claudia! 🙂
Still, talent and the will to succeed always comes before money, don’t forget!
I vote for Carlsen and Karjakin alike. I really do appreciate them both and they will surely improve a lot in the years to come.
Radjabov must be also included in this list, although I would place him after Magnus and Sergey.
As for Caruana or the child Nyzhnyk we shall see how far they will go. Not forgetting the Chinese star Yifan… ah! and hopefully Muñoz too!!! 😉
magnus carlsen of course! but watch out for Nakamura!
Its got to be magnus. The next talent in line is Fabiano. All the others like radjabov, mame, etc have already been given opportunities but have not proven anything.
Only person who has not yet been given opportunity is Karjakin. Needs to be seen if he can achieve as much as Carlsen has (not only in ratings, but in terms of tournaments and world championship cycles)
Folks, Microsoft was Magnus’s FORMER sponsor. His main sponsor is now FAST which was recently purchased by Microsoft. Read his father’s own statements here:

“Magnus indeed has search engine provider FAST as a main sponsor. Pharmalogica is also sponsoring him, and earlier Micorsoft Norway sponsored him for 3 years and Computas for half a year.”
