When I was on the plane coming to Lubbock tonight, I overheard 2 men arguing about the Yankees and Red Sox. Can the Yankees catch the Red Sox? At one point, the Yankees were many games under .500. Now they are 15 games above .500 even with a loss tonight. Do they have enough to do it or will they run out of steam? What is your take?

hey Susan check this out:

There’re pictures of you playing Fischer Random chess with.. well, Fischer – in 1993! You looked so different then; your hair was jet-black!
So what is the real colour of your hair?
I am a Red Sox fan.
Go Red Sox.
Damm the Yankees.
HaHa
What exactly does this have to do with Kasparov?
What does the color of Susan’s hair have to do with anything. She puts highlights in-getta life.
As for the Yankees v. Red Sox. Go Yanks! You can never count those guys out.
I’d rather discuss the Anonymous Reader debate. Are anonymous readers really good enough prognosticators to tell you who’s going to win the division, or are they not?
As you can see, the Yankees-Red Sox question is pointless anyway. People just ignore the question and tell you which team they like better. But the question about the psychic abilities of anonymousi is interesting. I say they don’t have it.
I’ll be at Yankee Stadium tomorrow evening as the Yankees get closer and closer and closer……
The Yankees might catch the Red Sox, they might not. The only thing that matters is catching the
Mariners and keeping Detroit or
Cleveland out of the playoffs. I’m
confident the Yankees can be the
wild card. It doesn’t matter if
they win their division or win the
wild card, as both are essentially equal prizes.
In the span of baseball history,
14 teams have faced deficits of 10
games or more in July or August and
won the division or pennant. The
1978 Yankees are one of the more
memorable examples.
