Hammer ‘only’ drew his 8th round match with Adams but nonetheless an incredible performance. Only three players scored a higher rating performance these past nine days, namely, Eljanov (whom Hammer beat in round 3!) at 2823, Mr. Excitement (Alexander Morozevich) at 2820, and Vugar Gashimov at 2813. Considering those three are all ‘super’ GMs, that’s some rather heady company.
