MAGNIFICENT! The greatest of the young chess stars.
61..Bg7 was the decisive blunder.
Just… WOW
Completely unbelieveable. He grinded Shirov in the end game setting him up for time trouble and then Shirov blundered into a mate with Bg7.
here are a few postings from ICC. Gave me a good laugh.
Sven kibitzes: 2792.2 now…
biscuit kibitzes: so it this a draw?
PhishMaster kibitzes: No mate in 2
Laurentius kibitzes: mate in 2 biscuit
Shmawa kibitzes: It would be a draw if it weren’t a mate in 2
PhishMaster kibitzes: so black resigned
biscuit kibitzes: woah, ok
Here is the new live rankings. Carlsen is 2792. This is unbelieveable. #2!!! 17 years old.

The position was even. The old man was exhausted and offered the game with the terrible 61…Bg7
I personally find it incredible how Carlsen keeps pushing and pushing throughout his games. He is really determined and just does not let down, always exerting pressure on his opponents – until they finally falter. In view of his tender age this is pretty amazing. Just impressive…
carelson just trades pieces and looks to simplify. then he grinds you down by winning a pawn or just counters a bad mistake. hes not a great player. i dont like how he plays. toplaov or morozevich will teach this young kid a lesson.
you don’t like , that’s one good thing to say … and you don’t understand ! that’s all there is … that’s the lesson YOU deserve …
uhm, if he is not a great player how come he has defeated all those great players? 4.5/5??
or are you saying that his opposition was too weak?
are “great” players only the 3 or 4 on the top?
gee, dont go too hard on the word “great” you might be mistaking it for “best”….
wolverine2121, if it only was so easy – just simplify and then the world’s top players will start dropping like flies. Not sure you really understand the game…
nobody completly understands the game or it would be solved. i do understand the game alot better than you. id destroy you in a game. i never said whether it was easy or hard to simplfy a game. dont start making up things that was NEVER SAID OR IMPLIED. stick to the subject. i understand when a player is not trying to mix it up and instead simplfies into end game positions. someone slanders there player and automatically they dont understand the game! are you kidding me. defend why carleson is scared to mix it up and get into complicated positions. the guys a boring player . simple as that.
lol, wolverine, you are kidding, right ?…this kidd has an understanding of the game not only unseen at his age but rarely seen in the history of chess…thats why he simplifies the position to get to a winning position…He is truly a genious.
“toplaov or morozevich will teach this young kid a lesson.” hillarious: carlsen is 3-0 against moro and 3-1 against topa. they sure taught him a lesson!
lol@wolverines comments. typical keyboard warrior. in his last 3 games carlsen was the one complicating the positions.
If it is simplification the opponents would easy hold; they don’t.
ive never seen a carleson game that makes me excited to watch. he induces mistake by other players. if you grind out a win over and over again thats not something i’d wanna see. thats not impressive. get rid of the anonymous name. these anonymous posters are the biggest cowards on here.
“ive never seen a carleson(??) game that makes me excited to watch”
that is because you are a dimwit. and he has no obligation to please dimwits.
shut up you snivling little bitch. you couldnt beat a old man with alzheimers, dementia and mental retardation in chess. you couldnt beat a baboon that was blind folded in chess. you couldnt defeat a peice of bacteria in chess. yet you comment on me. thats laughable. keep your job of the guy walking around the streets with the little caasears sign. dont comment on chess. your to stupid.
Wolverine is a moron! Dude’s probably been at Elo 750 for most of his chess playing life.
It’s the bottle of orange juice- keeps you high in energy right until the end- while your opponent tires. Also Carlsen is young with good stamina, He is growing up with supertournaments as the norm (he has been playing them for years) and grown accustomed to them. Name one other players as experienced as he is who is a teenager- then you see hime being just 17 is not such a disadvantage in experience as you all believe. He might be close to his peak for all you know- just got there mega fast.
by the way the last comment was part joke part serious which might be confusing to follow- sorry!

I confess. I am a coward.
wolverine says “your to stupid”. Dimwit indeed.
Dimwit! Such a nice word. We, the ancien Greeks, we call it ‘avelteros’.
