Congratulations to Vishy Anand. He deserved his win.
This is really a very healthy outcome for chess. While no one would have disputed Volodya’s claim to the WC if he had won, a second place tie is a very creditable result against such class competition. Furthermore he knows that he had real chances to win a match. An Anand-Kramnik match will be very eagerly awaited by chess fans and I very much doubt that there will be the same acrimony that surrounded the Kramnik-Topalov match.
