The British Chess Championships in North East England
Welcome to The British Chess Championships in The North East of England. This is the furthest north in England that The Championships have been since Sunderland in 1966.
Although we are officially based in the county of North Tyneside, to whom we owe a great deal for sponsoring the venue this year, we have support and interest from all the North Eastern counties of the old ‘Northumbria’ and of course the great city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
