1. Qxg6+!!, Kxg6 2. Be4# Beautiful checkmate!
1. Q:g6+ K:g6
2. Be4#
Qg6 & Be4
Qxg6 check , Kxg6 , Be4 mate.
Qxg6 and Be4 is mate in 2 🙂
greets, jan
For the 2 possibilities, the indian player choose the most beautiful. 38.Rf7+ Nxf7 39. Qxg6!! Kxg6 40.Be4#.
The other alternative is Qxg6+ first with mate in g7 with Rg7#.
Indeed it was the game of round 5!!
Edson Dias – Brazil
Puzzle is better with the previous position. The checkmate is forced from Rxf7, and the double rook / queen sacrifice was making it beautiful.
Anyway. Qg6 and Be4 of course. Still disappointing.
Qxg6!!
Qxg6!!
Qxg6!!
1.Qxg6+ Kxg6 2.Be4#
Funny!
1. Qxg6+ Kxg6
2. Be4#
You have to look twice before you believe this is true.
Finally a problem I could solve in 1 second.
