Why sucker Adams doesn’t participate?
Where’s Mamedyarov?
He’s playing really strong chess, and ranked much higher than some of these guys… also shame not to see Gata much…
No american players…….would it being going to length to say that there is some political aspirations preventing american players from getting invitations here?
Wow, despite the other comments – quite a field.
At the risk of being crass – what is the prize fund look like and are there any estimates on what type of “conditions” (i.e. appearance fees) being paid out?
I dont understand one thing:What is doing Krasenkow(2650+) playing in the Group C,where everyone has 100 less than him?.Is that fair play?Absolutely unfair!Ban Krasenkow from the C Group and send it to Group A or B.And if he doesnt want,he can go home.
Three players in the B group are rated higher than the bottom player in Group A. How are groupings decided?
Some are qualifications of course, (Motylev and Carlsen play A because they won Group B last year, Navara replaces Morozevich, for example). Where the C Group is concerned, some places come from tournament wins, not necessarily ratings. The Corus website (www.coruschess.com) gives details of why placings were awarded. Also, despite rating difference, many are happy to play, it is an excellent opportunity.
Why on earth isn’t Mickey Adams on that list?
David,
England.
I am very doubtful about Kramnik participating at Corus. It will be a miracle if in the last moment he won’t pull out his medical certificate.
A pity Judit is not in the list.
so Kamsky is not invited to play? what about his performance in Sofia? where he placed second to topalov.
i would’ve liked to have seen nakamura play in the A group
Most big organizers stay away from Nakamura for his bad behavior. He’s very obnoxious.
give me one example of Nakamura being obnoxious over the board? I have never really seen him disrespect his opponent over the board? or heard tell of such an occurence.
looking forward to seeing Navara play. quite exciting young fellow. seems to be improving all the time.
