The European Senior Champ in Courmayeur (Aosta Valley) ended with the win of GM Mihai Suba from Romania.

The female title was won by GM Nona Gaprindashvili (on tiebreaks) in spite of her defeat in the last round against the Italian Antonio Rosino. Mr Rosino won the national senior title for the 5th time.
