Chess Club adds staff, names new directors

The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis said Wednesday it expanded its staff and added two new board members.
Kevin Short, co-founder and managing director of Clayton Capital Partners, and Michael Lueken, president of General Marine Services Inc., have joined the board.
Nick Heard has been named the club’s assistant manager and Lauren Smith joins the staff as executive assistant.
Heard comes to the Chess Club from Chicago, where he studied at Columbia College. Smith, a recent graduate from Southeast Missouri State will provide administrative support.
The club is preparing to host the 2009 U.S. National Chess Championship in May.
