1.Rd8 Rd8: 2. Qe7: +-
1.Rd8?! Rd8 2.Qe7 Qd1+ 3.Kh2 hg6 -+
1.g7 Qd1+ 2.Kh2 Nf5 3.gh8+ Kh8
4.Nh5 looks better to me.
Sorry I meant g7!
it is
1.rd8! rxd8
2.g7!! qd1+ forced
3.kh2 nf5 forced
4.gxh8q++ kxh8
5.nh5 +-
(e.g. 5… f6 6.bg7+ kg8 7.bxf6+ kf8 8.bxd8 )

1. g7 and if Qxd1+
then
2. Kh2 and if Nf5 or Ng6
then
3. gxh8=Q+ Kxh8
4. Qf6 and mates next move.
What about l. De7 and no Txe7 because of 2.Td8+. If 1…Dd1+ 2.Kh2Dd7 fe7++
Mesud
After
1 Qxe7, Qxd1+
2 Kh2
Black can take the Queen (Rxe7) because the Rook isn’t on d1 anymore.
This is the line I analyzed…I thi
1.Rd8 RxR
2.g7 Qd1
3.Kh2 Nf5
4.gxh8(Q)+ KxQ
5.Nh5 f6 (forced)
6.Qxf6+ Kg8
7.g4! and black is out of moves…
Ex, if:
7….Qd7
8.gxN exf
9.Qxg4+ Kh8 (9…kf7 10.Qg7+ Ke6 11.Nf4#)
10.Bg7+ Kg8
11.Nf6+ wins the queen.
@henryk
5…f6 is NOT a forced move 5… qxh5+ is also possible for black …
and indeed after
5… f6 my comp does also prefer 6.qxf6+ – but i’m quite sure NO humean (carbon based) player would play this move. Why? Playing 1.rd8 (in the given position) makes the black rook ” ready” to be taken by … 8.bxd8 – btw – i was the anonymous 9.44)

Nh5! Black is quite doomed with the threat of Nf6+ Bxf6 Qxf6 and finally Qg7 mate.
1) Nh5 Qxd1+
2) Kh2 Bxe5+
3) Qxe5 Qxh5+
4) Qxh5
White is a queen up.
