Chess Folks: The “Chess in the Circle” in downtown Schenectady (Electric City) on Tuesdays will host an exciting blitz event. It is scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2008 – 11:30am to 1:30pm (Onsite registration from 11:00am to 11:30am). It will be across from Proctor’s Theater in 432 State Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 under two blue tents.

It is 6 rounds of 5 minutes for each player blitz chess! We have ten advance entries and those who have signed up include, GM Ronen Har-Zvi (Former World Under 16 Champion) and Chess Expert Deepak Aaron (Current Schenectady Chess Club Champion)!

Come and test your playing skill with these strong players. Anybody who beats Ronen and those who defeat Deepak (Below 2100 USCF rating) will receive suitable prizes. Definitely, there are exciting prizes for winners and deserving players!

Entry is absolutely free, so do ensure you sign up before the first game is played. You can preregister by writing back or calling (518) 346-2275 Ext 318. So, you are invited to come – participate, watch and also spread the word about this exciting event!
