Now, the only check giving or mat-preventing squares for Black are guarded by the King and/or Queen.
1. Qh4+, Kg2 (Kg1? 2. Qf2#) 2. Qg4+, Kh2 3. Kf2 is the usual mating way in a position like this.
It is mate in 6 after 3. -, Qe1+.
I do not think there is anything faster here but there may be. 🙂
1. Qh4+ Kg2 (if 1. …Kg1, 2. Qf2#)
2. Qg4+ Kh2
3. Kf2 Qe4
4. Qg3+ Kh1
5. Qg1#

If 1…Kg1? than its Mate in one:
2. Qf2#
2. Qg4 ch Kh2 only move.
3. Kf2! White is threatening Mate in one which cannot really be stopped. For example: 3…Qd5 4. Qh4#.
Or 3..Qe4 this move’s value is that it prolongs the mate in one move, making it a mate in 5.
Qh4+ Kg2 Qg4+ Kh2 Kf2 Mate or loss of Q.
