f6! wins
I think Dopa is right. 1. Ng5! should win immediately.
Why is the tactic labeled special?
Dopa is definitely right. If black takes the knight, then moving the pawn is inevitable checkmate due to the new bishop line opening up as well. If black doesn’t take the knight, the reset is history at QxH7
There is also the third mate pattern that appears after 1.Ng5 fxg5 2.f6 e4 3.Qg7#. Three different Q+_ piece combinations for mate, all in one problem, makes this a cute exercise.
