Just wondering, Susan, did all of them have the same set of problems?
Boyz… I really don’t understand…
Very interesting.
How does the competition work?
Can they move pieces?
Do they work this on a board?
How do they know they have the answer to stop the clock?
Can they make lots of wrong guesses with no penalty?
Very Interesting.
It’s impressive that the higher rated kids could solve the problems quickly, but even more impressive that the very young, lower rated kids were willing to stay focused on the problems for so long (42 minutes even) in order to solve them. Usually kids that young don’t have anywhere near the attention span for that. Congrats to all of them.
The list is a testimony to the diverse cultural mix the USA is. This is not a small statement to make. Kudos to the USA for beign the formost nation in the World supporting and nurtutirng diversity!

WONDERFUL.
HATS OFF TO SUSAN FOR STIMULATING YOUNG MINDS!!!!
Now that the competition is over, would it be possible to post the puzzles so that we might compare chess skills to these talented youngsters?
