1. Ng5+ fxg5 2. Qf7+ Qxf7 3. d=N#
1.Ng5+ 1…fxg5 2Qf7+ 2…Qxf7 3.d8=N#
Ng5+ and it’s mate in 2 from there. very nice.
Ng5+ fg
Qf7+ Qxf7
d8(Q)++
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8/N#
Amusing.
Mark
1.Ng5 + fg
2.Qf7 + Qf7
3.d8(N)mate
1. Ng5+! fxg5
2. Qf7+! Qxf7
3. d8=N#!
Ng5+ w idea d8=N+ and Qf7#
The best part is that there are no variations to consider in this. All moves are forced for Black
1.Ng5+ fxg5
2.Qf7+ Qxf7
3.d8=N#
1. d8=N QxN
2. Ng5+ PXN
3. Qf7++
This was wrong. Correct line is:
Ng5, PxN,
Qf7, QxQ
d8=N ++
1 Ng5 f6xg5,2 Qf7+ Qxf7, 3 D7-d8 Knight ++
1 Ng5 fxg5 2, Qf7+ Qxf7., 3 d7-d8N ++
You cannot move the pawn to d8 as you will leave white’s King in check…
I think it is:
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N++
1. d8=N QxN
2. Ng5+ PXN
3. Qf7++
errr?
not possible open check
solution
Ng6+ fxg6, Qf7+ Qxf7 d8#
d8=N#
1. d8=N QxN
2. Ng5+ PXN
3. Qf7++
not possible open check
1.Ng6+ fxg6, 2.Qf2+ Qxf2, 3.d8=N#
1.Ng5+ fxg5, 2.Qf2+ Qxf2, 3.d8=N#
1Ng5+ pXN
2. Qf7+ Qf7.
3.Nd8
Probably not 1. dxe8=Q Na5#!
And probably not 1. Qxb6 Qxd7+ 2. Kb7 axb6 with a totally lost position.
So probably a knight chess then, but not 1. Ng5+ fxg5 2. Qf7+ Qxf7 3. Rxf7? Na5#.
And not 1. Nd4+ Nxd4+ 2. Qxd4 Bxd4 3. dxe8=Q Nxe8.
No more knight checks (d8=N wasn’t possible here).
But 1. Nd5+ wasn’t fully investigated above, we must try:
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N#
Exactly the same moves as the allready published post from Anonymous, only a different order:-)
1.Ng5+ PxN
2.d8=N+ QxN
3.Qf7++
;-))
d8=N is illegal as a first move, but
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N++
works.
1. Ng5+ fg 2. Qf7+ K:f7 3. d8N#
Lovely, 1.Ng5+ (if 1.d8=N+ Kf5!) fg 2.d8=N+! QxN 3.Qf7 Mate!
this seems to be straightforward. just the move order could be a problem, until one realises that d8 is legal only on the 3rd move.
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qxf7+ Qxf7
3. d8N#
greets, jan
1.d8=N Kf5!
Forced is:
1. Ng5 PxN
2. Qf7 QxQ
3. d8=N
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N #
Anonymous @ 11:43 – d7 pawn is pinned and cannot be moved.
1. Ng5+ fxg (only move)
2. Qf7+ Qf7 (only move)
3. d8=N #
1… QxN is not the only move for black after 1 d8N – more forcing is:
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+! Qxf7
3. d8N#
d8? impposible move
but it’s the right idea !
1. Ng5+ PxN
2. Qf7+ QxQ
3. d8N++
Wrong answer by Anonymous (Thursday, March 15, 2012 11:43:00 PM CDT.) 1.d8 is not possible.
1. Ng5+! hxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N++
Beautiful!
Let’s try:
1. Ng5+ fxg5 (forced)
2. Qxf7+ Qxf7
3 d8(N))#!
(1. d8=N is illegal)
Anonymous said…
1. d8=N QxN
2. Ng5+ PXN
3. Qf7++

d8=N+ QxK!!!
But the d pawn can’t advance to d8, because you’re moving into check.
You can not do d8=N since the pawn is pinned.
Right line is
1. Ng5+! fxg5
2. Qf7+! Qxf7
3. d8=N#
1.Ng5+ fxg5
2.Qf7+ Qxf7
3.d8=N#
Anonymous at 11:43:00 PM forgot that d pawn is pinned.Otherwise perfect solution.
Ng5+ fxg5
Qf7+ Qxf7
d8(N)++
Mahendrakumar (HYDERABAD)
1. Ng5+ fxg5 (forced)
2. Qf7+ Qxf7 (forced)
3. d8=N+#
re previous Anonymous post:
if 1. d8=N Kf5 (still there is a mate but more moves)
Or:
1. Ng5+ fxg5
2. Qf7+ Qxf7
3. d8=N#
I like horsies.
