Morozevich became the #2 ranked player in the world and #1 in Russia in the July 2008 list with a rating of 2788, which is the same as Kramnik. However, he is listed higher because of the FIDE tie-break rule.

Humpy in striking distance of Judit?
Who’d a thunk it.
Take the top 7 on that list and ad Susan as a wildcard and play a double round robin. Now that I’d pay to see.
lol striking distance? 90 points at that level is like improving from 2000 to 2350.
How come Xie Jun is active? What’s she playing, I mean?
’90 points at that level is like improving from 2000 to 2350.’
That’s nothing. Humpy will catch up end of year, and overrride next year, if all goes like we planned.
Problem for Judit is she can’t improve, playign with Anands and Kramniks, while Humpy playing and beating easily 2500+ players will jump and jump.

Hey you, I want to see you improve to

OK?? Stop bloggin’ and start playing chess!!!
Come on Xie Jun:just 4 more points!
Susan – What’s the story with Marie Sebag? She has been consistently creeping up the ratings chart, but you don’t hear much about her. I understand that she is still fairly young, so perhaps she is a sleeper that people are not paying too much attention to.
