Bb5+ and if Nxb5 Nx and check at c7 or d6 depending on black’s move.
if he plays Nc6 Bx followed by Nx wins.
right?
1. Nb5 winning an exchange with Nc7+(1…Nd5 2.Bxd5 axb5 3. Bxb7 Rb8 4. Bc6+ Ke7 5. Bc5++)
I second Nb5!? although I can’t see all the consequences.
1. Nb5 with the threat of Nc7 mate!
Like
1. Nb5 Rg8??
2. Nc7#
Also white threatens to win the rook
Like
1. Nb5 Bg7?
2. Nc7+ Kf8
3. Nxa8
Now black’s reply should avoid the mate and avoid loss of material.
One line could be
1. … axb5 (a try by black)
2. Bxb5+ Nc6 (forced)
3. Rxc6 axc6 (forced to avoid Rc8+)
4. Bxc6 Ke7 (forced)
5. Bc5#
or,
1. … Rc8
2. Nd6+ Ke7/Ke8
3. Nxd8+ Kxd8
4. Bxe6+ (double check)
4. … Kc8
5. Re8#
The other alternative for black will also fail.
1. Nb5 Nd5
2. Bxd5 axb5
3. Bxb7
Now black has problem of mate threat along a8-h8 and along a3-f8. And black will lose atleast its rook.
