1. Bd8
Bd8! Rook can’t take due to e7+, and at the same time the bishop blocks the 8th rank rook’s coverage of the promotion square. White wins faster than if just 1. e7+, which also wins.
Bd8 followed by e7+ and queening on e8 or d8.
When I looked at this first could not get 1.e7 disc ch to work.
(1…Kh8 2.Rf8+ Nxf8 etc)
Returning a few minutes later with a cup of chicory coffee, saw
1.Bd8!! (1.Rxd8 e7+) Black has to give up losing amount of material to keep going.
Hope this is correct otherwise I’m back on tea.

Brilliant problem!
1. Bd8!!! wins easily
There is no decent answer to the threat of e7+!
Obviously, first thing that occurs to me is 1.e7 followed by 2.Bf7, or even 2.Rad1:
1. e7!? Kh8
2. Bf7 and I don’t see how black doesn’t keep from losing a knight for the pawn.
However, I think white can upgrade to winning a rook with the somewhat less obvious….
1.Bd8!
Two threats- 2.e7 with discovered check if black captures at d8, and 2.Bxb6 if black moves the king. Also, if black just moves the rook to b8, b7, c6 etc., white just pushes e7 with discovered check followed by e8 gaining a queen. Black can’t seem to do any better than to just take at e6 on the first move.
1. e7+ ♚h8
2. ♗f7, threatening
3. e8=♕+ ♜xe8
4. ♗xe8
Bd8. Chess is beautiful, thank you, Susan.
