Who are the people who can be trusted in FIDE and USCF?
You can trust John McCain.
Re1 followed by Nxf6.
maybe:
Rc8, Rxc8
Nxf6+, Qxf6
dxc8, Rxc8
Bxb7, Rxb2
Qa4
wins a pawn I think
rc8, rxc8
dxc8q,
How about:
Nxf6, Qxf6
Bxb7, Rd8
Bb8 (block off rooks)
then Qa4 to get the a-pawn
Black will have to give up exchange
R for Bishop to activate his pieces..
Re1 followed by Nxf6.
Fine, except that after 1…Bg7 there’s nothing left on f6 for the knight to “x”.
…
Rc8, Rxc8
Nxf6+, Qxf6
dxc8, Rxc8
Bxb7, Rxb2
Qa4
“Rxb2” isn’t a legal move. In any event 4…Rb8 looks okay for Black.
Nxf6, Qxf6
Bxb7, Rd8
Bb8 (block off rooks)
2…Rab8 looks okay.
rc8, rxc8
dxc8q,
as i said, this is winning, any refutations?
h
Youre right if Black plays 1. … Rxc8. But I think we also have to evaluate 1. … Qe7, so :
1. Rc8 Qe7 (1. … Rxc8 is no good option)
2. Nxf6+ Qxf6
3. Bxb7 Rb8
4. Qd6
Looks nice to me.
1.Rc8! Qe7
(if 1…Rxc8; 2.dxc8=Q Qxc8 loses bishop; if 2…Qxd1 3.Qxf8+)
2.Re8!
wins the bishop
Rc8 and yes, black will lose the bishop. 1..Rxc8 2.dxc8 Qxc8 3.Nxf6+
but Qe7 I think drops the full rook instead, 1.Rc8 Qe7 2.Nxf6+ (2.Re8? and black just takes twice on e8 with the rooks?) Qxf6 and 3.Bxb7! finishes black off here. Black has to take twice on c8 (if 3..Rb8 4.Qd6! and the rook cant hide) and can just resign.
guess:
Rc8, Qe7
Re8, Rxe8
dxe, Rxe8
and now Qd7 threating Nf6+ and if black captures the queen Nf6+ winns the queen and the bishop
