For the longest time, many organizers have no idea how to retain girls.

Well, the secret is make the events FUN and EXCITING for them. Many girls and boys do not think the same way so please do not treat them the same.

This is a prime example. These are some of the Polgar Girls from the annual Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls. Each year, they make a different statement.

In the first year, they came in one round wearing colorful tiaras. In the second year, they came with pink boas. This year, they have war paint on their arms and faces. That is wonderful creativity! One can only wonder what they will come up with next year!

Once these girls compete in a Polgar All-Girls event such as the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls, the Susan Polgar World Open Championship for Girls or the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls, they will walk away with wonderful lifetime memories, camaraderie and friendships. They will become a permanent member of the Polgar Girl’s Club.

I also attend each day of each event that I organize unlike some other events where chess celebrities only lend their names. If you care enough about your mission, it will happen.
