Kristen Sarna (Left – TX) vs. Aiya Cancio (Right – AZ) in a one game 5 minute blitz playoff for the Dell laptop at the 2009 SP National Open for Girls in Peoria, Arizona. Kristen won and received the laptop while Aiya received $200 in chess prizes.
Both qualified for the 2009 SP National Invitational for Girls at Texas Tech University (July 26-31) in Lubbock, Texas.

Hi Susan, Thank you very much for the pictures. My family enjoyed the tournament experience very much! The only comment I have is that more strong players from other states should have come to compete for the big prizes!

And the requisite standing up when there is drama in the game! Just like in the movie “Searching for Bobby Fischer” which a lot of scholastic players emulate.
