– Pacquiao ran away from home when he was 14 after falling out with his father in the Philippines. After selling doughnuts on the streets for a while, he stowed away on a boat to Manila (which was 500 miles away) to start his new life as a boxer. He turned professional two years later.
– Pacquiao needs to consume 8,000 calories a day to maintain his weight and energy levels. To do this he eats five meals a day. For almost every single meal he eats steamed white rice with either chicken or beef broth.
– Pacquiao’s got plenty of hobbies outside of sport. He’s a decent chess player and taught himself to play the piano. But what he really loves is photography. He recently invested in two Cannon 1DX cameras, which cost around £6,000 each.
